Video-links that interconnect mobile automation vehicles are getting more and more popular. May it be in the area of farming as well as in construction- and mining industries or similar fields: high resolution video-links are being used to optimize logistics processes in order to ensure timely availability of load capacity and machines and to improve safety. However, achieving a range of up to several kilometers using license free ISM-frequency bands, is a classical challenge: the bandwidth required for video transmission is hardly achievable below 1 GHz but in higher bands like e.g. at 5 GHz, it is difficult to achieve the required range with the power permitted by frequency regulations. Intelligent solutions are needed, like the one that VITES has developed. More information here.
